Kotoko Swat Bribery Allegation Against Goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye

The Asante Kotoko board of directors has jumped to defence of goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye who has been accused of taking bribe from their CAF Champions League conquerors Barrack Young Controllers. After last Sundays match, media reports were rife that the Burkina Faso international received US$3,000 to throw the match for the Liberian champions. Abdoulayes accusers claim he allowed in a cheap goal which gave BYC the needed 1-0 win to oust Kotoko on the away goals rule. Extracts of the statement signed by board chairman Paul Adu Gyamfi read: The accusation is manifestly false and only meant to tarnish the name of Kotoko and the Player and also to create a wedge between Kotoko and BYC of Liberia. We wish to state that all well meaning Ghanaians and supporters of Kotoko should ignore the accusation as unwarranted and that we have confidence in the goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye.
