Ghanaians Applaud Prez Mahama On State Of The Nation Address

Ghanaians have applauded President John Dramani Mahama for an excellent presentation of the State of the Nation Address. Most Ghanaians the Ghana News Agency spoke to on Wednesday in Accra said the President was well composed in his presentation and did not allow the heckling from the Minority side of the House to detract his attention. Alhaji Hamidu Asaana, a contractor, urged the President to remain focused in his pursuit of the national development agenda, adding that the vision of free senior high school (SHS) was achievable. He commended President Mahama for promoting Made-in-Ghana goods by appearing in Parliament in traditional attire. Alhaji Asaana however, appealed to the President to reshuffle his cabinet and bring in fresh people with better ideas and to halt the depreciation of the cedis Mr Samuel Adobah, a journalist with Montie FM, an Accra based radio station, said the projections of the government were very laudable but was quick to say that he did not believe the concept of free SHS could be attained. Mr Moses Kwarshie, a cobbler, said President Mahama had good plans for the nation but the depreciation of the cedis was worrying and appealed to the President to do something about it. He urged the government to ban the importation of rice and poultry products so that the local rice and poultry industries could grow.
