Make Education Free For Orphans UPS SRC

Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University for Professional Studies (UPS) is asking government to consider making education free for all children in Orphanages across the country. The UPS SRC President, Caled Kwasi Owusu made the suggestion in an interview with Citi News after the SRC donated a large consignment of food items, assorted drinks, detergents and toiletries to the Gomoa Orphanage called Village of Hope in the central region. He commended government for promising to progressively make secondary education free but suggested that children in Orphanages be the first beneficiaries of the free education concept. Since the government has pledged its support in respect of making education free and compulsory; I think that government should give attention to children living in orphanages. He decried the living conditions of Orphans living in orphanages and appealed to the wealthy in society to adopt some of the children and groom them to become responsible citizens. Caled Owusu said plans were afoot by the SRC to mobilize enough resources to solve some of the numerous challenges management of the Gomoa Village of Hope Orphanage have been grappling with.
