Consider Cheaper Fuel Solutions For Ghana � Buah To VRA Board

Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has urged board members of the Volta River Authority (VRA) to consider cheaper fuel solutions for the country�s energy needs. He pointed out that the VRA must work to improve its financial viability to enable it compete with international independent power producers in the country. Speaking at the inauguration of the Board of Directors for the VRA, the sector Minister said despite all the gas infrastructure government has put in place, �we have to explore other avenues and that is why we are looking at the LNG as a long-term solution and we are aggressively pursuing that as well.� He advised the VRA to �take interest in these matters because these are very important to VRA�s survival� adding that the VRA must look beyond the production of power by looking at �fuel solutions that are cheaper.� Mr. Buah also pledged government�s to the activities of the VRA.
