Two students of the Ghana Telecom University (GTU) have for allegedly stealing laptops belonging to their schoolmates. The two, Michael Eshun, a level 100 student, and Eugene Nii Quaye, a level 200 student, were said to have broken into the rooms of two students after they had spotted them leaving for town. Unfortunately for the two suspects, immediately they came out of the rooms with the laptops in their bags, a friend of the victims spotted them. They were said to have bolted but the lady who had already seen their faces informed the victims. Eshun and Nii Quaye were picked up on Thursday at heir hostel, after the victims had lodged a complaint at the Tesano District Police Station. Narrating the incident to the Daily Graphic, the Tesano District Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police Mrs. Lydia Donkor, said the two suspects admitted committing the crime after their arrest. Theft cases at GTU She said over the past months, the police had received several complaints about theft cases at the university. According to her, most of the students reported of missing laptops, ipads, and mobile phones, among other valuable items. The situation, Mrs. Donkor said, had troubled the management of the university and had also created fear in the students, especially whenever they had to leave their hostel. She said Eshun and Nii Quaye would be processed for court immediately investigations were completed.
