It�s Time To Render Enhanced Services For NPP � Alhaji Mogtari

A Former Upper West Regional Minister, Alhaji Mogtari Sahanun, who is contesting for the vice chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party, has said it is time to render enhanced services to the NPP towards winning Election 2016. �As a good listener, organiser and unifier, when I get the opportunity to become the vice chairman of the party, I will work hard to enhance the fortunes of the party to win political power in 2016,� he stated. In an interview, he declared: �I will be very unfair to the party if I say I never benefited from the NPP; thus, it is time to pay back my due to the party by rendering useful services.� According to Alhaji Mogtari, leadership is a very important aspect of everything. He further stated, �we are more afraid of a 1,000 sheep led by a lion than 1,000 lions led by a sheep.� In this regard, he stressed the need for unity within the party and pointed out that �if we unite the party, at the base, whoever we pick as the flag bearer will win the polls in 2016.� He, however, pointed out that if they were not united, they could pick an angel but would not win because there would be no coordination. The NPP vice chairman aspirant, therefore, entreated delegates of the party to pick experienced, competent and dedicated people to offer effective service to the party. He challenged delegates to look at the track records of all aspirants before casting their votes. Vice chairmanship Alhaji Mogtari said as a man who could be trusted, he would give his best as the vice chairman of the party. �I will work sincerely and diligently for the party and leave an indelible mark for the party to remember,� he stated. He said he had so far toured the Greater Accra Region and met constituency chairmen and delegates in the 21 constituencies. He said his next visit would be to the Eastern Region where he intended to have constructive dialogue with members of the party, especially delegates. Achievements An educationist, Alhaji Mogtari touts himself as a thoroughbred NPP person, saying; �I was born into the UP tradition and started actively in 1969 as a polling agent at Wa Training College.� In 1991, he became the organiser of the Danquah/Busia Club and in 1992 became the Upper West regional secretary of the NPP till 2002. From 2001 to 2005, he was the regional minister and then became the ambassador to Burkina Faso from 2006 to 2009. Since then, he has been supporting the party at the regional level and anywhere he is called to duty.
