President Urged To Focus On Challenging Issues

The Vice Chairman of the Offinso South Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Ibrahim Osman, has called on President John Mahamas administration to join forces and solve the current economic challenges facing Ghanaians. He said although the President was putting in place effective measures to address the economic challenges, there was the need for government agencies to collaborate and work to find permanent solutions to issues that affected the quality of life of Ghanaians. Alhaji Osman particularly mentioned the rampant demolition of buildings and the missing stillborn babies at Komfo` Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) as problems that needed the attention of President Mahama. He said if those issues were not addressed, the image of the NDC could be dented and that could spell doom for the partys campaign for the 2016 elections. Speaking to the Daily Graphic, he said I am upset about the current issues affecting the administration of the NDC government. If it is not about demolition today, it will be doctors tomorrow. We must give special attention to issues affecting the living standard of Ghanaians. He also said in order to effectively address current development issues, President Mahama must intervene by instituting measures to contain those who plan to destroy his adminstration. KMA boss Alhaji Osman alleged that the chief executive of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) was using some military personnel to harass transport operators, especially those from the northern part of the country and added that the issue had affected the businesses of the transport operators, resulting in some of them leaving Kumasi to other regions. I personally call on the president to intervene in this case since it is hampering the operations and businesses of Northerners in Kumasi, he said. When he was asked whether efforts had been made to address the issue, Alhaji Osman said it would only take the intervention of President Mahama to address that particular issue. NDC warnings Citing difficulties within the New Patriotic Party, Alhaji Osman, warned NDC members to take a cue from that and refrain from internal wranglings that would yield negative dividends for the party. The NDC must avoid divisiveness because it would only lead to personal attacks that would not benefit the party in any way, Alhaji Osman stated.
