Education Policy For The Disabled Launched

THE GHANA Education service in collaboration with the Ministry of Education has launched a programme to include all persons with disability in the education structure in the country starting from Afigya Kwabre. The 3-day workshop kick started at Ahenkro near Offinso in the Afigya Kwabre District of the Ashanti region on the theme �Building all inclusive Education.� The facilitator, Frank Owusu Sekyere, a lecturer of the University of Education (Winneba Campus), Kumasi told the participants thatthemodel of education is to increase, re-structure culture, policies or practices in various schools so that at the end of the seminar, children can learn freely without fear. This will help teachers to understand their students and identify those disabledand be able to manage it without much difficulty. The teachers who were randomly selected from all the basic schools within the districtby their headmasters are to ensure themaintenance of discipline at all times. Dignitaries present were C.K. Gyamfi, Special Education Coordinator for Afigya Kwabre District, Samuel Bediako, Ahenkro Circuit Supervisor of Education, Owusu Sekyere Frank, Lecturer University of Education, Winneba and Very Rev Samuel Gyasi, circuit minister for Ahenkro Methodist church, Offinso Circuit.
