Diabetes Mellitus 2. Hypertension A MAJOR CHALLENGE The Hospital has no structure for Accident and Emergency Unit. However, due to the high attendance rate of accident and other emergency cases, the hospital is forced to create a miniature Accident and Emergency unit which has four bed capacity. Averagely the so called Casualty unit receives twelve (12) patients per day and 300 patients per month. From 7th January, 2013, when this Casualty was established up to 26th March, 2014, the Casualty has received 4,223 accident and emergency cases. It is sad to know that most of these cases who are children, students and pregnant mothers sit in plastic chairs to receive infusions due to lack of space. This unacceptable situation affects quality healthcare delivery at the Casualty unit. Hospital management will like to bring this sordid situation to attention of all Nzemas especially natives of Jomoro District who live in Ghana and Abroad to come to the aide of Half Assini Government Hospital to arrest this unacceptable situation so as to offer better healthcare to the residents of Jomoro and other adjoining Districts. Hospital management is afraid that if something is not done and in case of any major accident or emergency cases, there is no doubt that the Hospital will be helpless.
