Information available to Peacefmonline.com indicates that fire has gutted the Makola No. 2 Market; specifically the Aflao station in Accra.
This is the second fire outbreak at the Makola market this year.
According to an eyewitness, the fire started around 5:30am Friday.
There is worry that the fire could spread to a fuel station nearby and could cause more havoc.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have been able to put out the inferno but the cause of the fire and the extent of damage are yet to be determined.
