Forestry Commission Stops Issuing License For Bat Hunting

The Executive Director of the Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission, Nana Kofi Adu-Nsiah, has added his voice to calls on people to stop eating bats. This is because through the consumption of bats, one can contract the Ebola virus. As a step to forestall the spread of the virus in the country, the Commission has stopped issuing licenses for hunting of the mammals. Meanwhile, a cross section of the public Radio Ghana spoke to say they have heard of the viral disease, Ebola but do not know anything about it. They therefore called for intensive public education on the disease.
