United Cadres Front Congratulates Prez Mahama

The United Cadres Front (UCF) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has congratulated President John Dramani Mahama for being elected as Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The commendation was made in a statement signed by Mr Sammy Donkoh, Director, Public Affairs, UCF of NDC on Saturday. The statement said: Perhaps he (President) is not the first Head of State from Ghana to occupy that position, but coming from the heels of persistent opposition from within, it is significant to acknowledge the real testimony of the sterling role that H.E. Mahama has been playing to restore the image of Ghana in the comity of nations which has transcended to theWest African sub-region. According to the UCF ignoring partisan interest may be difficult, but it was a necessity for the greater good of the people of Ghana and therefore it was very diabolical on the part of any individual or group to pursue their personal agenda without truly taking into consideration what the ordinary people of the country urgently needed. It said electing President Mahama to the chairmanship of the ECOWAS was not a fluke. The opposition may not like it. But the truth is that, what Ghana is and the role it has been playing is unquestionable in the eyes of seriously-minded people who may want the dignity of this country to be upheld at all times. Whilst President Mahama has been having sleepless nights thinking about solving the problems and challenges facing Ghana, others are thinking about how to win 2016 elections by manipulative structural damage, the statement said. The UCF said Ghana was a blessed country, and no amount of machinations from whichever quarters would take away the pride of place the forefathers have left for the heritage of Ghanaians. They said: It is the blood and toil of our forebear which have made what we are and proud of. For the sake of a personality having the inordinate ambition of becoming a President or Minister of State to throw dust into the eyes of the people, the Good Lord will never grant it. The UCF called on Ghanaians to continue to work harder and move together to build a Better Ghana for the sake of the present and generations yet unborn as well as the totality of humanity.
