Ghana Black Queens and Sekondi Hasaacas head coach Yusif Basigi wants Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah to hand a deserved call-up to Hasmal goalkeeper George Owu into his squad and access him ahead of the World Cup. Basigi says the 31 year old former Asante Kotoko shot-stopper has accounted for himself very well in the ongoing Ghana premier league and should be considered into the Black Stars set up. Owu is considered as one of the most experienced glovesmen in the country and has seen a revival of his career since his return to the Ghanaian game after spells in the Egyptian League with from El Masry. A son of the legendary Ghana goalkeeper Ben Owu, George put up a fantastic performance during the Germany 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers campaign match in South Africa, with a 2-0 victory which finally qualified Ghana to its first FIFA World Cup in Germany in 2006. �I think he is in top form. If you monitor Hasaccas games you will notice the kind of performance he is putting up. I think he should be considered to the Black Stars especially with the sort of experience he has�. Owu,31, has mounted the Black Stars post on several occasions in the early 2000�s and will be hoping to prove a point if he is being given the opportunity again. The former Asante Kotoko and Ebusua Dwarfs keeper was a member of the Ghana Black Stars squad that represented the country at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. He was also Ghana�s number one during the 2004 Olympic Games in Greece (Athens) where the Black Meteors failed to go past the group stage. Tottenham Hotspurs expressedinterest in Ghana goalkeeper and offered him a trial in 2010 following his release by Egyptian club Al Masry.
