Sammi Awuku Ends In Style

Sammi Awuku, a leading contender for the position of National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the weekend ended his five-month campaign across the country in a grand style. The young and energetic politician organized a mammoth meeting at the plush Rexmar Hotel in Kumasi, where he officially announced the end of his �effective campaign across Ghana.� The event was graced by NPP constituency youth organizers and their deputies in the Ashanti region, TESCON Presidents, party functionaries and leading NPP members, including Members of Parliament (MP). NPP gurus such as Kwabena Kokofu, Bantama Member of Parliament (MP), Stephen Amoah aka �Sticker� and Amankwa Manu, an aide to Nana Akufo-Addo and ex-Atwima Kwanwoma, NPP chairman were present at the function. Nana Bee, ex-TESCON President of KNUST and Jerry Osei-Poku, the Eastern Regional Youth Organizer, openly declared support for his bid. Although Sammi Awuku planned to use the event to thank the party�s delegates and supporters across the country, the numerous NPP delegates that attended the programme openly endorsed his candidature amidst the singing of victory songs. At a point delegates stated that Sammi Awuku had made immense sacrifices for the NPP at the peril of his life so they would not allow him to waste his time and resources. The NPP delegates also acknowledged the competence of Sammi Awuku. The aspiring National Youth Organizer of the NPP assured the party�s youth that he would work hard to ensure that they play a leading role in the party�s 2016 campaign, noting that the era when the NPP youth were neglected was over. He said if given the nod he would ensure that the regional youth wings of the party are well resourced to enable them carry out their programmes and plans to promote the cause of the NPP. Awuku said under his leadership, the NPP youth wing would conduct a separate campaign in 2016, stating that the voice of the party�s hard working youth would be heard by all and sundry. Kwabena Kokofu, Stephen Amoah Osei-Poku, Nana Bee, among others, also highlighted the contributions of Sammi Awuku towards the advancement of the NPP.
