18 Summoned Before JDC This Week

REPRESENTATIVES OF eighteen government institutions and individual have been subpoenaed to appear before the Justice Yaw Apau chaired commission of inquiry dubbed the Judgment Debt Commission from today, Monday, April 14 to Thursday April 17, 2014. The commission established by President John Mahama is probing into judgement debt payments and other related matters and these institutions are to assist the commission unravel some of the mysteries surrounding debts incurred by the state. In a released signed by the commission�s public relations officer, George William Dove and copied to the Daily Heritage the commission is expecting representatives of the Attorney General/Solicitor General, Lands Commission, Yilo Krobo District Assembly and Yilo Krobo Senior High School on Monday, April 14. On Tuesday, April 15, the Attorney General/Solicitor General together with the Lands Commission, Ministry of Road & Highways, Segu Consult and Seth Mensah Dumoga are to appear. Comfort Aboagye, Koforidua Polytechnic, the Lands Commission, Patrick Aaron Yeboah, (Property Lane) are to come on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 The commission will, however, end its public sitting of the week on Thursday, April 17, with representatives from the Attorney General/Solicitor General, Divestiture Implementation Committee, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Megrey Construction Company Limited and the Ministry Of Finance and Economic Planning According to the commission�s PRO, �The invitees are at liberty to appear with their lawyers,� and further reminded the general public that sittings start at 10.00 a.m. each day. Mr. Dove further indicated that �members of the public who wish to testify or volunteer information are first to report at the Commission�s office to give their statements.� The commission he said will then schedule a date for them to give evidence. �All those who intend to testify or volunteer information to the Commission but are unable to be present in person are requested to submit memoranda to the Commission. All such memoranda will be treated confidentially.�
