Artisan Arrested For Assaulting Medical Doctor

Police at Sofoline in Kumasi are holding an artisan who works at the Suame Magazine, for violently assaulting a Medical Doctor with the SDA hospital in Kumasi, who he claimed nearly knocked him down with his car. The suspect, Kofi Kumi, is reported to have stopped Dr. Charles Osei Tutu and beat him up severely after pushing him into a gutter. The doctor, who sustained several bruises, reported the incident to the police setting off a hunt for the attacker. He later reported to the SDA Hospital for treatment. Kofi Kumi, who had gone into hiding was finally arrested Sunday by the Sofoline police. Sofoline Police Commander, DSP Vitus Napim, told Ultimate Radio, he was picked up upon a tip-off. Describing what their investigations had revealed, he indicated �Dr. Osei Tutu was driving from his house to the highway around Esuoyeboah while Kofi Kumi was riding a bicycle. On bypassing Kumi, he bumped his bicycle into the back of the car prompting the doctor to stop. Kumi threatened to beat up the doctor accusing him of intentionally trying to push him into the gutter. The doctor in turn threatened a police action against him if he dared touch him much to the fury of Kumi who beat him up and pushed him into the gutter�. He indicated that the suspect, who is being prepared for court, had on him a substance suspected to be Indian hemp when a search was conducted on him.
