A TEN-YEAR-old pupil of the Etoile Royal Great School at Tamale became the cynosure of the eyes of the thousands of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates who converged at the Tamale Sports Stadium at the weekend. Ivy Ofori Adwoa sent the NPP delegates, including Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the two-time Presidential candidate of the party and his running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, into spontaneous shouts. The girl was so eloquent and concise in a peace message she sent to the rank and file of the largest opposition political party before they started voting to elect new party executives that everybody admired her. The perfect manner in which Ivy gave her speech compelled all the people present to give her a standing ovation as the charged crowd clapped to spur her on. Ivy, in her succinct address, charged the NPP to do away with bickering which she said, had the tendency of dividing their ranks and rather unite as a family to approach the 2016 general elections. She re-echoed the strongest need for the NPP to maintain its peace, irrespective of the outcome of the Tamale Congress so that the party would be formidable to enough to oust the NDC some two years from now. She enumerated the hardships confronting Ghanaians due to the mismanagement of the economy by the NDC administration, stating that �Ghanaians need NPP now!� Ivy insisted that Ghana�s smooth development depended solely on the NPP, indicating that majority of the populace, mostly the jobless youth, were hankering after the NPP to attain power and save them. She predicted that Ghana�s current troubles, which the current administration seemed not to have answers to, would be over with the NPP in political office. �NPP is the surest bet to Ghana�s development,� she claimed. Before Ivy left the dais she had become a star already as elderly people were seen trying to take memorable photographs with the unchallengeable intelligent girl who willingly posed for the cameras with broad smiles on her face. Some of the journalists notably, those from the electronic media, were also seen trying to seek interviews with Ivy who was nicely dressed in the red, white and blue colours of the NPP.
