Accra-Kasoa Tollbooth Broken Down

THE TOLLBOOTH along the Accra-Kasoa highway has broken down for the past three weeks,available information to the Daily Heritage, indicates. According to an eyewitness who only gave her name as Emelia the situation occurred because of an �accident� but has since not been fixed by authorities. �We were by the road side early morning doing our day to day activity when we heard a big noise, I saw my friend running so I also followed, and we went to stand somewhere just to realize it was part of the tollbooth which had broken down.� According to her, �We have been selling under the tollbooth for quite some years now and I have not set my eyes on this accident before till that day, it would have killed us if we were under it that morning, but it is just by the Grace of God.� She revealed that it was a long truck which was loaded with Ash Foam mattresses and got stuck under the booth and then not able to move again broke part of the tollbooth. According to her, authorities are waiting for the people who owned the truck to fix the booth, but added that there were no casualties. The sellers are, therefore, calling on the appropriate authorities to quickly do something about the situation. The truck has since been moved from the scene while drivers were seen paying their tolls as usual. Meanwhile the broken booth had been moved to the side of the road.
