Residence of Kokofu Anwiaso in the Bosome Freho district were yesterday thrown into a state of mourning when a 59 year old blind man, Opanyin Kwadwo Kuma, was trapped to death in his room when the building he was living in collapsed after a heavy rainfall.
Narrating the incident to Hello FM's King Edward this morning, an eyewitness, George Agyei Kwakye explained that the heavy rain started at 1:00 pm and lasted for about three hours.
"Because of how heavy and severe the downpour was, we didn't hear of the collapse. we came out of our rooms after the rain only to find the collapsed building. We rushed there and saw the Blind lying down restless complaining of chest pains," Mr Kwakye said.
He however added that the blind man died on their way to the hospital.
