Kindergarten pupils of Ntensere Roman Catholic Primary School in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region attend school under trees. Headmistress of the school, Madam Emelia Adogta told The Finder that the school's roofing was ripped off by a heavy downpour two weeks ago and has since not been replaced. She said although she has written a number of letters to inform authorities about the incident, she is yet to get a response. According to her, with no help in sight, she was compelled to hold classes for the pupils under nearby trees. She explained that the situation was seriously undermining teaching and learning as there is no blackboard. Madam Adogta was worried that as the rainy season approaches, academic work would be frequently disrupted, saying anytime the clouds gather, classes end abruptly. When contacted, the assemblyman for the area, Eric Agyei Dapaah, told The Finder that he has informed both the District Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament about the plight of the school but was yet to receive a response.
