We Won't Pay You a Dime - Kotoko Board Member Tells Dr. KK Sarpong

Newly elected national chairman of Asante Kotoko supporters wing, the circles, Kwaku Amponsah has reacted angrily to claims by former Kotoko executive board chairman, Dr. K.K Sarpong that he is owed about $250,000 by the club and is demanding payment within thirty-days. Dr. Sarpong wrote to the Porcupines Warriors to pay him an amount of GHc590,000 owed him during his tenure as the board chairman of the club or face legal action but Kwaku Amponsah says the club will not pay the former Cocobod board chairman a dime and has urged him to carry on with the court action. Amponsah, popularly known as chairman K5 was elected as the chaiman of the Kotoko circles and would replace the outgoing Bernard Ziel on the Kotoko board. "If KK Sarpong says we owe him, that is fine with him but personally I don't think we owe him and even if we do, we don't have a penny to pay him," Amponsah told Angel FM. "Me for instance, I'm the leader of the supporters and if we are suppose to pay even GH 1.00 to Dr. Sarpong, I won't pay and so nobody is going to pay him a dime. He has threatened to go to court so we are waiting for him to take that step". Dr. Sarpong led Kotoko to two successive titles since his appointment in 2010 before he quit in 2013 but his era was dogged by accusations of selling too many players.
