Ashaiman �Ganja� King Grabbed

A man considered to be a notorious wee smoker in the Ashaiman municipality has been arrested by the Ashaiman Divisional Police Command during an Easter swoop. Prince Cephas Tika, 47, a mason, at the time of arrest was carrying a quantity of herbs suspected to be wee. Kwesi Darko, 35, an electrician, who is an accomplice in the wee business in the municipality, was also arrested during the swoop with a roll of suspected wee and a box of match sticks in his pocket. Ninety-two wrappers of suspected Indian hemp, five improvised pipes, two spoons and foils, all used for injecting heroin and cocaine, were retrieved from one of the wee bases located behind the Ashaiman Ecobank at the Market Square. Seventy-seven additional wrappers of suspected Indian hemp were found abandoned at the Market Square area. Addressing the media, the Ashaiman Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jonathan Ametefe Adams-Godoe, said 24 other suspected wee smokers and peddlers were arrested during the swoop from various hideouts at the Market Square, Booster Station, Big Bolla, I shall Return, and Taboo Line. The operation, he said, was part of the police strategies to reduce crime to the barest minimum in the municipality. The suspects, ACP Adams-Godoe said, would further be screened and those found culpable would be interrogated and processed for court.
