The Ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been described as a dead party by Mr. Mohammed Aboagye, a close pal of President John Dramani Mahama.
According to him, the conduct of the current crop of leadership at the various levels was enough ground for the party to be declared a dead one.
�Members of the National Executive Committee of the party do not respect the President. If they did, they would not be calling for the reinstatement of some dismissed MMDCEs,� he noted.
He said he was very disappointed at the present state of the NDC in the wake of the dampened spirits of members across the country who he said, were unwilling to give of their best for the party.
Mr. Mohammed Aboagye added that the morale of foot-soldiers was down and blamed the party�s sinking image on the inefficiency and ineffectiveness of the same National Executives.
The NDC member said it was evident that after the infamous Temale Congress in 2009 the party had gone to sleep while some of its leaders were only interested in amassing wealth for themselves at the expense of the masses who struggle to vote for them.
�The party�s leadership is sleeping and if care is not taken, I�m afraid we are bound to crash,� he remarked.
The leaders, he averred, had veered off their core mandate of inspiring the youth throughout the country as well as garnering support for the party, considering the slim margins with which the two previous general elections were won.
He described this as very unacceptable, indicating that leaders of the party had let down� and must bow down their heads in shame.� He said unless the current apathetic attitude changed, the party might not be able to regain the confidence of the electorate and vote for it in the 2016 general elections.
�I must be honest with you, my heat bleeds profusely for the NDC ahead of the next polls.�
He maintained that the ineffectiveness of those at the helm of affairs at the national headquarters had manifested in the regions, bringing the party�s outreach programme meant to garner more votes to a complete halt.
Mr. Aboagye said he was particularly alarmed by the caliber of industrious leaders the NPP elected at its recent Tamale Congress, noting that it was a clear signal the NDC was on its way of government.
