One Thousand Megawatts Of Power To Boost Ghana's Energy Supply Inaugurated
An Institutional Biogas Digester for electricity generation has been inaugurated in Kumasi.
This comes after government's policy of 10% renewable energy in the National Energy Mix by 2020 as part of measures to ensure the swift development of the renewable energy sub-sector.
The policy which is in line with the Renewable Energy Act 2011, Act 832 makes provision for the development of a feed-in-tariff scheme to allow entities to feed electricity generated from renewable energy sources into the National Grid at special prices.
The Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission, Dr Ofosu-Ahenkorah announced this in an address at the inauguration of the Digester.
