Stakeholders Schooled On Street-Naming Project

Stakeholders at a Consultation and Validation Workshop on proposed street naming and property addressing process within the Effutu Municipality, have identified all primary roads in the area as first class roads. They also identified roads that link the primary roads as second class roads, while those in residential areas are third class roads. The workshop was organized by the Effutu Municipal Assembly, and attended by stakeholders made up of Chiefs, , Opinion leaders, Technocrats, and staff of the Assembly. The roads they identified as first class ones, included the Cape Coast through the Winneba round-about road to Accra, and the road from the round-about to the town up to the Prison Yard. Mr. Frank Matey Korli, the Municipal Town and Country Planning Director, and leader of a team spear heading the process, took participants through power point presentation on recap of on-going street addressing process in the area to let them know where they have reached. He schooled them on, what is street addressing and property, and why street addressing is necessary, after which the participants were divided into three groups to deliberate on the presentation.. Nii Ephraim, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, expressed appreciation to the participants for their contributions, and hoped they will continue to partner the Assembly to develop the Municipality. He assured the stakeholders that all their suggestions will be considered. Neenyi Ghartey VII, Paramount chief of the Effutu Traditional Area who chaired the workshop, commended the team for their efforts towards the success of the exercise, and urged them to continue to work with zeal in order to complete the work on schedule.
