Nationality Of Three Dead Persons In Plane Crash Identified

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has identified the nationalities of the three persons who died from the Lukoil plane crash at West Cape Three Points in the Western Region. They are a French and a Nigerian, pilot and co-pilot respectively, and a Ghanaian whose bodies have been deposited at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy. The four who survived, have been sent to the West Africa Rescue Clinic at Chapel Hill, popularly known as SOS Clinic, and are responding to treatment. They are three Ghanaians and one British, whose names are yet to be known. The Public Relations Officer of Two Garrison Command of the GAF, Captain Linda Oboh, told the Ghana News Agency on Friday morning that the Rescue Team is still on the site looking for one missing person. She said parts of the wreckage of the crashed helicopter were found last night. Capt. Oboh said officials from the Ghana Aviation Authority would move to the rescue site this morning to assess the situation. The plane crash occurred at the West Cape Three Points near the Jubilee Oilfield, where oil exploration is being undertaken, with eight persons on board.
