Wassa Fiase Forms Association To Settle Chieftaincy Disputes

The Omanhene of Wassa Fiase Traditonal Area, Osagyefo Dr. Kwamena Enimil VI, has inaugurated an association to prevent and settle chieftaincy disputes in the area. The association would among others, ensure the welfare of chiefs and queen mothers, protect and strengthen the chieftaincy institutions. Osagyefo Dr Kwamena Enimil told the Minister of Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs, Dr Henry Seidu Daannaa during a visit to the area as part of a five-day tour of traditional councils in the Western Region. He said 10 divisional councils in Sekyere Himan, Adum Banso, Manso, Nyametease, Mamponso, Prestea Himan, Tarkwa Bremang, Nsueam, Dompim Pepesa and Simpa Pepesa have been approved to deepen decentralization. He appealed to the chiefs to ensure that all their sub chiefs were gazetted to enable them perform their functions accordingly. Dr Seidu Daanaa congratulated the Omanhene for establishing such an association to bring dignity to the chieftaincy institution and pledged the government�s support for the association.
