Fetish Priest With Blood Stained Knife Grabbed

The New Juaben Municipal Police Command has arrested a self-styled fetish priest, Duada Yakubu a.k.a. Baffour for wielding a sharp knife with blood stains suspected to be human blood. Some items such as juju, cutlass and GH1, 831 cash were also retrieved from the suspect�s car. The New Jauben Municipal Police Commander, DSP Christopher Quacoo told the Daily Heritage that on Sunday morning, distress calls reached the Police from residents of Obo-Tumpan, that a man who is unknown in the area has parked a Nissan car with registration number GE 1988 X with blood stains believed to be human blood splashed on the car while the suspect was wielding a sharp knife threatening to kill anyone who comes near him at the riverside. According to DSP Quacoo, policemen were immediately dispatched to the scene, but when the dispatched team got to the scene, residents in the community had over-powered the suspect and handed him over to the police. During interrogation, the suspect admitted to police that he was a mechanic apprentice and lives at Apietu, a village in the Suhum municipality, but has been possessed by the Densu River as a fetish priest. So he was there to perform rituals. He told the police that the blood stain on the car is not human blood, but rather that of a fowl. The police say they have taken samples of the blood stains on the car to be sent to the laboratory for confirmation report. Meanwhile the suspect is in police custody assisting the police in further investigations. The Mmabaahemaa of Obotumpan Nana Serwaa Agyako who was at the police station with some of the residents appealed to the police to undertake thorough investigations into the matter to ascertain the modus operandi of the suspect. She said she believes the suspect has committed a crime; hence, his inability to cross the river since the spirit of the river always causes the arrest of criminals and murderers as a result the community has been peaceful since its establishment.
