Sex Worker Dodges Cameras [PHOTO]

DRAMA UNFOLDED at the Zongo Police Station on Friday when a suspected prostitute, who was under arrest, tried to avoid the cameras of journalists. The prostitute (name not known), was among a group of suspected prostitutes and robbers whom the police arrested during a swoop in Kumasi a couple of days ago. The police, after the arrests which were carried out at various parts of the city invited the media to capture the suspects on camera. They were about to be lined up for the journalists to take shots of them when the drama unfolded. The suspected prostitute, light skinned, suddenly covered her face and broke into uncontrollable tears to the surprise of all present. She then knelt before Superintendent Frank Abrokwa, the Manhyia District Police Commander. In the name of God, she begged the apparently stunned police officer not to allow her to be captured on tape. She even wept much more profusely when she realized that the cameraman of TV3 was bent on filming her. She stated that she resides at Bantama, a suburb of Kumasi, and so if her face was captured by the media, it might ruin her life. The suspected harlot even threatened to end her life if the media dared capture her on camera, creating a scene full of emotions at the police station. Supt. Abrokwa displayed professionalism as he managed to convince the lady to allow the journalists to do their work.
