I Will Not Support Alan K Any More...Ghana Needs Nana Addo Now Alan's Aide

I have once been a personal assistant to Alan Kyeremanten and I have campaigned for him several times; but I can assure you that I will not support his campaign (this time around), says John Kumah, a leading member of the Young Patriots of the opposition New Patriotic Party. He was commenting on the ongoing war of words between supporters of two time NPP flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo and two time failed flagbearer aspirant, Alan Kyerematen. Supporters of the two personalities have been trying desperately to out-do each other with Nana Addo's sympathizers said to have asked Mr Kyerematen to step down from the flagbearership race and allow the 2012 flagbearer to go unopposed. But supporters of Alan are of the view that Nana Addo has had his time. According to them, he failed to give the NPP victory in the two times he has contested as flagbearer. This has led to simmering tension within the opposition party as more groups are emerging to either offer their support for Nana Addo or Alan K. John Kumah who was once a Special Aide to Alan, told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FMs Kokrokoo programme that he is of the firm opinion majority of the people are calling for Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo. He believes that this time is for Nana Addo and if he (Nana Addo) is allowed to contest for the presidency again, he will come out victorious. We have worked for the party up to this stage and everybody knows NPP is the only hope for Ghanaians; looking at the bad governance of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). He (Alan) is an excellent leader who can also lead the NPP but if you put your ears on the ground, you will hear that everybody is calling for Nana Akufo Addo, a man of patience and a unifier. If you look at the mess NDC has created with their bad governance, we need someone who is more experienced in leadership. Someone who has carved a certain niche for himself and that person is clearly, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo," he added. He urged his fellow members to be calm and further assured Ghanaians that the NPP is not going to implode as some fear. I dont believe Nana Addo would even want to go unopposed and so I will plead with my fellow party members to be calm and avoid personality attacks. They should know that we are the only hope for Ghanaians and the only way to save this country is when we are united. Whatever is happening in the NPP now is normal and nothing strange. I am hopeful that when Nana Addo contests for the presidency again, victory will be ours, he added.
