The Financial High Court hearing the case of Alfred Agbesi Woyome, a businessman, has adjourned the case in response to a letter from the Ministry of Youth and Sports to the court dated May 28, asking for some few weeks to submit findings to the court. The letter signed by Alhaji Abudulai Yakubu, Chief Director at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, prayed the court to give the Ministry a few weeks to enable it to conclude the search and submit its findings to the court. �I wish to respectfully inform you that this Ministry has commenced the process of tracing the document, but will require some time to complete the search,� the letter indicated. The letter was in response to the order made by the court for the Ministry to make available to Mr.Woyome, a correspondence between Mr. Yaw Osafo-Maafo and Dr Kofi Amoah from their archives. At the last adjourned date, the court made the order when Mr. Woyome tendered the letter as evidence, but the prosecution raised an objection to the authenticity of the document, because the letter had no signature of its author and the writings were very blurred. Mr. Woyome is standing trial for defrauding by false pretenses and causing financial loss to the State. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and is on a 20-million-Ghana-Cedi bail with three sureties to be justified. The Court presided over by Justice John Ajet-Nassam has adjourned the case to June 9.
