The National Lottery Authority (NLA), in collaboration with Roghas Entertainment, has launched a new game called the Bingo Star of Africa. Speaking at the launch, Brigadier General Martin Ahiaglo, the Director General of NLA, said the Authority had since its inception in 2006 adopted innovative and varied initiatives aimed at changing the face of lottery in Ghana. He said some of the transformational policies that had been implemented include the introduction of daily fixed odd games, platforms like Caritas and SMS Lottery, as well as full automation of lottery processes online which led to the elimination of manual lottery. �These initiatives are improving efficiency and our overall effectiveness and delivering convenience to our retailers and final consumers and our key performance indicators are pointing in the right directions as our gross revenue has for instance seen tremendous growth,� Brig-Gen Ahiaglo said. He said the NLA was always willing to support ventures that would be beneficial to its retailers, players and the nation as a whole, hence accepting the initiative from Roghas Entertainment Limited to bring to the market the Bingo Star of Africa. He said the new partnership would help increase and expand the gains of lottery in resource mobilisation and employment creation. Mr Cassiel Ato Forson, the Deputy Minister of Finance, commended the NLA for working to diversify its product portfolio which intended to keep with the changing times in terms of customer expectation and national needs. He said NLA had over the past two years contributed a cumulative amount of GHC45 million into the consolidated fund in addition to employment generation and its other multiplier effects in the economy. He said the introduction of the Bingo Star Africa was a step in the right direction as it would become a major bread basket of the nation. Mr Alex Alexandrescu, Chief Executive Officer of Roghan Entertainment Limited, said the Bingo Star Africa was the first of its kind in Africa. He said the game has since started in six locations namely the Greater Accra Region, Volta Region, Ashanti Region and Western Region and plans are far advance for a nationwide expansion very soon. He said the game is shown live on Metro TV every Sunday from 1800 to 1900 for the draw. The Bingo Star of Africa comes in a form of card with a unique serial number which should be scratched and sent to the short code 7020 to Vodafone, Airtel and GLO. The card bears five numbers each on three horizontal lines making 15 and one becomes the Bingo winner if all the 15 numbers are drawn. There are also Bingo 14 winners when 14 numbers are drawn on the card as well as Bingo 13 winner when 13 numbers are drawn. There is also a one line winner if all the five numbers on the horizontal line is drawn and two lines winner if all the numbers on the two horizontal lines are drawn. Each of the various wining category comes with amazing cash prizes.
