Pregnant Women In Birim Central Face Poor Access To Health Care

Pregnant women in the Birim Central Municipality have to queue at the Oda Government Hospital theatre in order to access the facility. The hospital's theatre cannot take care of the number of pregnant women who come there daily to access the facility. This has put a lot of pressure on doctors who have to attend to emergency cases first before considering others. The Birim Central Municipal Director of Health Services, Anastasia Atiogbe in an interview said the small size theatre which serves as changing room, scrub room, recovery ward, as well as operation theatre is not the best especially considering the number of patients on hand. She described the theatre as outmoded and called on government to assist the hospital.
