Hip Life Star and Ghana�s King of Azonto has been contracted to teach the proper way to dance Azonto at all Airtel Rising Stars events around the country. Gasmilla, often described as the inventor of Ghana�s World Famous Azonto dance will engage fans during break time for Airtel Rising Stars. Gasmilla said �I will be teaching fans the right way to dance Azonto and Azonto plus which includes moves like Alkaeeda and Kobay also known as Amanda.� �On the first day of the event, I will teach everybody and then on the second day people will dance for me to judge them. I am looking forward to a lot of fun on the road. My target is to teach at least 10,000 people how to do the Azonto. We will also post all the videos on Airtel�s Social Media Platforms for people to enjoy. I am really excited.� Gasmilla also known as the International Fisherman is enjoying heavy rotation on the Ghanaian music scene with his song �three points� and is threatening the charts with another hit song �letter to the President.� His dance moves has taken him everywhere in the world including Europe and America. The ever- smiling Gasmilla says he has decided to support Airtel Rising Stars because the competition identifies people who need opportunity to blow up. �I used to sell at the Agblobloshie market with my mum. Everybody knew I could dance and rap but where was the help. With a lot of struggle and God�s grace my first single blew up and things started happening. For most of the players on Airtel Rising Stars, all they need is the right help and things will change in their lives. That is why I am on Airtel Rising Stars. It�s just like my story. A little help is all we need and Airtel Is doing that for these boys and girls who know how to play football.� Gasmilla said. Airtel Chief Executive Officer Lucy Quist agrees with Gasmilla saying � the 2014 Airtel Rising Stars is all about the power of potential. I settled on running while I was in school after doing many things. If somebody had discovered me then, maybe I will be running for my country and not running a company. If you have the talent Airtel Rising Stars will find you and when we do, we will put you on the right path to success in your career for you to live the dream.� Gasmilla will begin teaching his dance lessons in Ho on Friday. At least one hundred of Ghana�s talented Under-17 players head to Ho this weekend to begin a career changing experience with the 2014 Airtel Rising Stars competition. Dubbed the most authentic and comprehensive football talent search in Africa, the Airtel rising Stars is being held across seventeen countries on the continent by telecom giant Airtel as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. The one hundred players heading to Ho, both male and female represent the best of three regions in the country being Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta Regions. George Afriyie, the Chairman of the National Juvenile Committee of the Ghana Football Association which partners Airtel Rising Stars in Ghana says the players going to Ho will be competing for honours as the best region, but will also be working hard to make the final selection of the zonal team. �All the players both male and female will be eying a spot on the zonal team that will play in the national finals of Airtel Rising Stars in Sunyani. So even though it will be a three region competition to determine who wins the Zonal competition, the ultimate reward will be a place on the team which will play in the national finals.� Lucy Quist, the Chief Executive Office of Airtel says the 2014 Airtel Rising Stars is rooted in Airtel�s belief of the potential of young footballers in Ghana. The seasonal theme for this year�s competition is �Live the Dream�, which is set to inspire at least one thousand young footballers across the country to make themselves available to be discovered. �At Airtel we believe in the power of potential. We believe that if you are a good footballer out there whether male or female, we will find you. When we find you, we will put you on the right path to success in your career for you to be able to live the dream.� Said Lucy Quist. Airtel Rising Stars is the most authentic young talent search in Ghana and the biggest in Africa with more than 40,000 young footballers taking part across seventeen countries. After Ho, three other zones being the North, Western and Ashanti will be held on weekly basis. All zonal select sides will then meet at the national finals in Sunyani where the Ghana Airtel Rising Stars team will be selected to compete in the African Championship in August in Gabon. Ghana Football Association President Kwasi Nyantakyi has given his tacit endorsement to Airtel Rising Stars already as the competition that will fill places in the Black Stars of Ghana and wants the players to be at their best during the Ho event. �Future places in the Black Stars will be taken by players from Airtel Rising Stars. This competition is for kids who are also in School. The education helps them to develop faster so I expect everybody to do their best� concluded Kwasi Nyantakyi.
