KBu Management Receiving Death Threats Board Chair

The Board Chairman of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has revealed that he and other management members have been receiving death threats over their disagreement with the hospitals Senior Staff Association. Edward Annan at a press conference on Wednesday rejected claims made by the Association in a petition to President John Mahama that the board is mismanaging the hospitals internally generated funds. They have been accused of buying expensive luxurious vehicles for the board and the some management members when there are pressing issues to be dealt with at the hospital. Board Chair, Edward Annan condemned the death threats insisting, his detractors are deliberately thwarting attempts to fix the problems at the hospital. I have got threats saying that if Im going to go the way Im going, I should be careful they dont kill me, he said. He alleged that some unknown persons attempted to break into the office of internal auditor but thank God after trying after half an hour, they couldnt break into the room. The Chief Internal Auditor is said to have subsequently cleared all the documents in the office and kept them in a safe. Mr. Annan said he is convinced that there are dedicated people in this institution who dont want the right thing to be done and they want the wrong thing to be done. The Korle Bu board chair also mentioned that the internal auditor has received text messages warning him that he shouldnt go where he is going. Ive had a lot of calls telling me that the old gang who for whatever reason have been sacked will continue haunting the institution if we continue doing what we are doing.
