Mahamas Reshuffle UninspiringDone For The Sake Of Reassigning Appointees - Informer Editor

The Editor-In-Chief of The Informer, Andy Kankam has hit hard at the administration of President John Dramani Mahama over the recent reshuffle of government appointees. According to the Editor of the pro-government newspaper, President Mahamas reshuffle clearly depicts an administration that has lost direction. He believes it has reduced governance to experimentation as some incapable and incompetent members of the ruling NDC party have been assigned roles as ministers and deputy ministers. Speaking in an interview on Okay Fms Adeakye Abea Morning Show, Andy Kankam said the Presidents reshuffle has no formula and cannot be compared to those done former Presidents Rawlings, Kufuor and the late Mills. Reshuffle is supposed to bring some excitements because it is believed that ministers who are sent to new places have the capabilities and competencies to work effectively at their new post. When a reshuffle is done in the name of reshuffle sake, we dont need a Rocket Scientist to determine that the recent reshuffle was done in vain. President Mahamas reshuffle has no locus or formulaGovernance is not about experimenting where you try ministers to see where they can perform while others are already working hard. If you watch carefully, the reshuffle is done within a 23 month period. Meanwhile when one is asked to head a particular ministry, it takes a time to learn the rudiments of that place but whenever the new ministers gain the experience to kick-start a project then the President changes them again, he lamented. Citing the reshuffle of Madam Sherry Ayittey, the Health Minister, as an example, Andy Kankam averred there was no need for her to be reassigned to the Ministry of Fisheries as she was already dealing with delicate issues at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
