Airtel Ghana Passes Another Network Quality Of Service Test

Airtel Ghana, the CIMG Telecoms Company of the Year has received positive reviews on a Network Quality of Service monitoring conducted by the telecoms industry regulator, the National Communications Authority (NCA) in the Central, Western and Ashanti Regions of Ghana. The report covered the period from March 31 to April 23, 2014. In a report released by the NCA, Airtel exceeded assessments conducted on parameters which included Call Setup Time, Voice Call Setup Failure Rate, Voice Call Congestion Rate, Voice Call Drop Rate, Voice Call Completion Rate and Voice Call Audio Quality. In all three regions, the report stated that Airtel Ghana complied with the license target for the assessed indicators, with a good rating for speech quality. According to the regulator, the assessment was to ensure Airtels compliance with their Quality of Service obligations as spelt out in their Cellular Mobile License. Commenting on the report, the Managing Director of Airtel Ghana, Lucy Quist said her company had in recent times invested GHC200 million in network expansion across the country. The enhanced quality of the network that customers are experiencing in the Western, Ashanti and Central regions is a testament of the investment made and the competence of our technical team who go to great lengths to ensure that the company provides superior network connectivity. We keep on enhancing the quality of our services because we understand that having access to quality mobile telephony is one way we empower the citizenry as well as create opportunities for economic development. she added. In her estimation, Airtel was a strong force in the telecoms industry, not only because of it having the second largest active network in the country, but also due to the fact that it has the worlds first borderless mobile network spanning 17 countries in Africa alone, thereby ensuring that no matter where one goes, one will still have access to world‐class, appropriate and innovative services.
