The Minister of Roads and Transport, Mrs. Dzifa Attivor is calling on individuals and organizations to support the campaign on road safety to reduce the carnage on the nation�s roads.
Speaking in an interview with Citi News, Mrs Attivor explained that road safety is the responsibility of all and not only limited to the Road Safety Commission and the Transport Ministry alone.
�Once a while we partner with various organizations to get our message across, we approach people and they are willing to assist, so other companies that are also concerned about the situation on our roads come on board so we all intensify the education,� she explained.
According to her the main responsibility of the Road Safety Commission is to ensure the continuity of road safety education.
But they are having challenges with getting people to continue with the educational program and to emphasize the need for people to know the importance of obeying road safety rules and regulations.
She also revealed that the road safety commission has offices in all ten regions across the country.
In addition to this, they intend to launch their national program in all regions in a bid to create more awareness about the need to take road safety seriously.
