Seasoned music producers whose names were mentioned among the 100 music right owners who have sued the Ghana Music Right Organisation (GHAMRO) and its board members for dissipating funds have threatened to drag Nana Kwame Ampadu to court to answer questions on why he used their names in the suit without their approval. The producers, John Agbenu of Precise Music, Isaac Taylor of Roots Music, Henry Obodai of Fly Boy Records and a few others in an interview with BEATWAVES disclosed that �we will not sit unconcerned for Nana Kwame Ampadu to use our names in a legal suit we don�t support.� They stated that they have already met with their lawyers on the issue and very soon, appropriate action would be taken against Nana Kwame Ampadu. Isaac Taylor, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Roots Music, told BEATWAVES in an interview that he was not even aware of any legal suit filed against GHAMRO by Nana Kwame Ampadu and the 100 others. He, however, denied knowledge of any involvement with any group of persons to represent him in the case against GHAMRO and its board members. He stressed, �I have never authorised anybody including Nana Kwame Ampadu to include my name in the suit against GHAMRO. I don�t want to associate myself with any litigation that seeks to destroy the music industry which he and others have struggled to build. Nana Ampadu has no right to sue GHAMRO on my behalf. I don�t have time for any court action and I don�t want to be part of it.� On his part, Henry Obodai of Fly Boy Records declared that �I don�t know anything about the court action against GHAMRO and have not authorised Nana Ampadu to sue GHAMRO on my behalf. Nana Kwame Ampadu cannot act for or on my behalf. I have not set my eyes on Nana Kwame Ampadu for over ten years not.� It would be recalled that Nana Kwame Ampadu on May 15, 2014 led a group of 100 musicians to file a suit in court accusing GHAMRO executives of deliberately refusing to organise their annual general meeting since 2011 when the mantle was handed over to them.
