A 39-year old Architect has been shot in the early hours of Thursday by unknown assailants in Tema, a suburb of Accra.
According to an eyewitness, the assailants, three in number went to the residence of Arnold Nii Ofori-Tackie, the victim and shot him in the chest.
Prior to this, Nii Ofori had received a phone call from a friend whose identity is not yet known, asking if he was at home. Even though it has not been confirmed that his friend was behind the crime, residents believe the call was to know the whereabouts of Nii Ofori.
According to another eyewitness, the assailants had been directed to shoot only Nii Ofori because they met two other people in the house but only asked for the room of Nii Ofori.
Immediately they were taken to the room of Nii Ofori, they knocked on the door and when it was opened they started firing at Nii Ofori. They also took his phone and iPad.
Meanwhile, the Police Service has started investigation into the act.
