Greater Accra Basketball Vice-chair Sir Koff Hails Chris Bosh Visit

Greater Accra vice-chairman Sir Koff is confident the visit of Miami Heat super star Chris Bosh will help boost the image of the game in Ghana. The small forward will land in the West African country on Thursday July 10 for a four-day working visit. He will interact with players and officials during the second edition of the Sprite Ball Clinic. Boshs visit is expected to draw numbers to the two venues designated- Accra and Cape Coast where budding talents will get the chance to train under the tutelage of the NBA star. The players will be taken through drills with one player expected to be picked to represent the country at this years Basketball Without Borders programme in South Africa in August. Many have hailed the visit of the 30-year-old as ideal and a perfect tonic for the growing brand in the West African country. Ghana basketball has been on the ascendancy over the past few years where the game has become a vehicle to encourage youth development in the country. Players are expected to enjoy the chilling opportunity of being trained by astute Ghanaian trainers and the former Toronto Raptors. It is a great moment for the association and we are extremely delighted that Chris will be visiting us, he told BASKETBALLghana.com Basketball is growing rapidly in Ghana and I believe his visit will help build the image of the game. Last year we had Luol Deng and Pops Mensah-Bonsu joining us and it was a great experience for the kids. I am confident the visit of Chris will continue to shape up the game here as we continue the promote the game and impact life. Chris is one of the most versatile and dynamic big men in this league, and he has been an instrumental key to Heats success over the last four seasons.
