POTAG: Govt Not Showing Enough Commitment

The Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (POTAG) is calling on government to show more dedication towards the payment of arrears owed them. The Ministry of Education met the association on Monday. POTAG has been on an indefinite strike since May 15, 2014 over outstanding arrears in its book and research allowances. President of POTAG, James Dugura, in an interview with Citi News stated that his outfit would like government to show commitment in the payment of the monies that that rightfully belongs to the association. Mr. Dugura revealed key stakeholders needed in the negotiations were however absent during the meeting. He said: The substantive matter is about the book and research allowances and they have not said anything about it. The court case between POTAG and the National Labour Commission (NLC) will however resume on July 7.
