UNICEF Educational Programme For Deprived Children Enters Second Phase

The second phase of the UNICEF Complimentary Basic Education for deprived children in the Afram Plains has started. 46 volunteer teachers from committees in the Kwahu-North and South Districts of the Eastern region are attending an intensive training course to facilitate the programme. The Afram Plains Development Organisation, APDO, is partnering UNICEF in the ongoing programme. Children between the ages of eight and 14 who missed school enrolment in their early stages are to be enrolled into mainstream Basic School Education.
