The Minority Caucus in Parliament has asked Parliament to join the sentiments of the generality of Ghanaians and institute a Parliamentary Committee of enquiry into factors that marred Ghana�s preparation and participation in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The Caucus said the abysmal performance of the Black Stars and the associated disgraceful acts by state officials should be investigated to forestall future occurrence. The NPP members observed that for a country that is going through a very painful economic challenge, one would have expected that whatever decisions that are taken would be driven by efficiency, national interest and value for money. The Minority Caucus said this at a News Conference in Parliament on Wednesday. Addressing the Media the Ranking Member on Youth and Sports Committee and MP for Atwima Mponua Isaac Asiamah said Parliament as a body charged with ensuring accountability and oversight over the Executive should act expeditiously on this very important national issue, adding that Ghanaians are no longer prepared for any Committee of enquiry set up by government as those established in the past yielded no tangible results. He touched on the airlifting of the three million dollars to pay appearance fees. Meanwhile a motion has already been filed to this effect to ask the House to investigate what accounted for the disappointing performance of the Black Stars and bad leadership exhibited by State Officials.
