Nigerian Resident In Ghana Told To Be Good Ambassadors

The Executive Governor of Osun State in Nigeria, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has charged Nigerians living in Ghana to comport themselves and be good ambassadors of their country in Ghana. He said Ghana and Nigeria were sister states which had enjoyed good relationship since colonial times and nothing should be done to put a wedge between the two countries because of the misbehaviour of a few. The Executive Governor made the call when he arrived in Accra last weekend to interact with executives and supporters of the Ghana chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), an opposition political group in Nigeria. He said he was impressed by the turnout of the supporters of APC in Accra to win power in Nigeria next year.� Amidst chanting of �APC Change, Change Federal� by supporters, Governor Aregbesola called on the Nigerian residents in Ghana not to forget about home but to continue to visit Nigeria and contribute towards its country. The Chairman of the ACP, Ghana chapter, Charles Michelletti, in a welcome address, said the supporters of the party in Ghana had been encouraged by the Governor�s visit to Ghana and pledged that they would continue to mobilize Nigerians in Ghana to vote for the party during the elections. He said they would also pray for him to retain his position as Executive Governor of Osun State because of the good work he was doing for his people. The General Secretary, Nnamdi Okogbue, and the Welfare Officer, Ibrahim Owolabi Saeed, also commended Governor Aregbesola for finding time to visit Ghana to interact with the ACP supporters in the country.
