'Mr. Speaker Was My Boyfriend' Naa Torshie Boasts

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Amazon and Member of Parliament for Tema West, Irene Naa Torshie-Addo, has, in a fit of anger, allegedly exposed Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, as an alley-cat. After a noisy visitation to the Tema Community 2 police station last month, to report her partys Constituency Organizer for allegedly threatening her, is alleged to have bragged to a source that Mr. Speaker was her boyfriend. On account of that connection with the speaker, Naa Torshie Addo is alleged to have boasted that the outcome of the investigations of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Works and Housing into the demolition of houses at Adjei Kojo will support her stance on the matter. It is pertinent to note that prior to this revelation, the MP had walked under the allegation that she was the love interest of Nana Akufo-Addo, 2008 and 2012 flagbeare of the NPP. The Speaker of parliament in February, this year, directed the Parliamentary Select Committee on Works and Housing to investigate the demolition of several houses on a swathe of land at Adjei Kojo belonging to the Tema Development Corporation. The (TDC) had pulled down the houses because it said they were illegal structures. Even though overwhelming evidence were available, including the fact that the squatters on the land had not been given permit to build, Naa Torshie Addo saw an electoral gold mine in the TDCs action and started a populist propaganda against the corporation. Cashing in on the sentiments of the squatters, the Tema West MP had taken to TV cameras, like a duck takes to water, purporting to fight on behalf of the squatters. Eventually, the confrontations between the MP and the TDC got to Parliament, leading to the Speaker, in February, tasking the select committee on works and housing to investigate the demolitions. It is the impending outcome of that investigation that the MP revealed to our source that it would favor her stance because of her alleged relationship with the Speaker of Parliament. For the records, Edward Korbly Doe Adjaho is a married man with four children. The scandalous revelation fell out after the MPs angry visitation to the Tema Community 2 Police Station, where she is splitting hairs with her own partys Constituency Organizer for the area. Arhin Young, the Constituency Organizer, is currently on bail, after the MP had reported her to the Community 2 Police for allegedly threatening her. As part of the brag, the MP is said to have referred our source to Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the NDCs 2012 Parliamentary candidate for Tema West, whom she allegedly claimed she had finished electorally. She is also said to have boasted that she had similarly finished the political career of her own partys Abraham Ossei-Aidoo, former Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, whom she had beaten in her Constituencys Parliamentary Primary. Attempt to get the right honorable speaker to confirm or deny Naa Torshies claim were unsuccessful. However, a close friend of the speaker (name withheld) when contacted told the Enquirer to dismiss the Tema West Amazons claim, describing it as childish and empty.
