Claims by driver of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Free Zones Board (GFZB), Kwadwo Twum-Boafo, that his boss slapped him and later pulled a gun on him to kill him, has been thrown out The Herald, learnt. The driver, had claimed that he attempted to calm down Mr. Twum-Boafo during an altercation with his mother in-law, but got assaulted and later chased with the gun, but his claims has been found to be completely false by the Airport Police, who The Herald learnt has since closed the docket on the matter. Reliable information picked up by �The Herald� indicates that the Airport Police, after investigation came to the conclusion that there was no iota of truth in Seth Obeng�s claim which went viral in the media. The case which was being investigated by one Alex Akuaku of the Airport Police Station in Accra, was brought to an abrupt end and the docket thrown out after Mr. Obeng�s three witnesses denied knowledge of his audacious claims. Mr. Obeng, whose well rehearsed media engagement was widely broadcasted beginning Saturday by Joy FM, was also found to have excluded in his statement to the Police, the much serious claim that that the politically-active Mr. Twum-Boafo, pulled a gun on him daring to kill him. Family sources of Mr. Twum-Boafo, say they know the source of the malicious story and the political twist to the driver�s claims, but have refused to mention names. Meanwhile, subsequent to Police exonerating Mr. Twum Boafo of all charges, he is said to have threatened to sue The Daily Guide for publishing falsehood. The Daily Guide was one of the media houses that first published the story in their Monday 21, July edition with the caption, �Twum Boafo Slaps Driver�. It reported among others that due to the severity of Mr. Twum-Boafo�s assault, the driver was �hearing some strange noise in his ears after the unprovoked attacked�. Though Multi-Media�s Joy FM, was also caught in the act feeding on the matter, Mr. Twum-Boafo is said not to be interested in suing that media outlet. Further information indicates that on the day of the incident, Mr. Obeng who is said to have been employed by GFZB boss over a year ago, went to Kwame Despite�s Peace FM at Abeka Junction at 1am. He proceeded to Joy FM at Kokomlemle before going to the Airport Police Station to lodge a complaint. The embattled driver, was also heard screaming on top of his voice that he was going to deal with Mr. Twum-Boafo. Alex Akuaku the investigator, on his part declined to speak on the matter, directing The Herald to his superiors. But efforts to speak to the Accra Regional Public Relations Officer, DSP Freeman Tettey, who first broke the news to Joy News, were unsuccessful as calls to his MTN number were not answered.
