The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has disassociated itself from a doctor who allegedly raped a 22-year-old lady at Tema last week Tuesday. According to the Public Relations Officer of the premier hospital, Mustapha Salifu, after going through the hospital�s records of employees, management �can state emphatically that the said doctor is not a staff of the Hospital�. �Management of the Hospital wish to disassociate itself from one, Dr. Nicholas Wood, whose story was carried on the front page of Friday, July 25, 2014 edition of the Daily Guide with the headline, KORLE BU DOCTOR IN RAPE SCANDAL,� a statement from the hospital placed on record. Meanwhile, the Tema Region Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olivia Turkson says pieces of information gathered by her outfit suggest Dr. Nicholas Wood, could be an imposter. She told Joy FM�s Super Morning Show on Monday intelligence received within the past three days indicates that the �title he is claiming is not correct�. For Korle Bu to disassociate itself from the alleged rapist �really makes our work easier,� she said. Dr. Nicholas Wood is currently in police custody, she confirmed. The police have also confirmed the alleged rapist admitted to committing the offence during interrogation. A medical report from the Tema General Hospital revealed that the victim suffered tenderness on the right thigh and groin with some discharge in her private part. Also, the hymen was absent.
