Ablekuma North MP gives to Muslims

The Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma North, Mr Justice Joe Appiah, has donated some food items to the Muslim Community in the constituency in connection with the celebration of the Eid-Ul- Fitr. The items were 50 bags of rice, 10 cartons of cooking oil and 15 cartons of corned beef worth. Mr Appiah congratulated them for successfully going through the Ramadan praying for forgiveness, mercies and protection not only for themselves but also for the nation. He urged them to continue praying for the nation as Ghana goes through what he described as its worst economic period. Mr Appiah urged Ghanaians to continue thanking God for the unity and love existing between Christians and Muslims in the country unlike some other countries where members of the two faiths were at each others throat. He urged them to continue to offer prayers to God for the relative peace the country was enjoying to be sustained which he said was a very important ingredient for the countrys socio-economic development. The MP expressed regret that due to the failure of the government to release money for the payment of statutory funds over the past one and a half years, it had not been possible for him to carry out a number of development projects he had lined up for the area. Notwithstanding that, he said, he had been able to provide a number of street lights in the constituency to ensure security and at the same time constructing a modern library and computer laboratory for the Mclean Cluster of schools at Odorkor, a huge storm drain at Kwashiebu and a Kindergarten block at McCarthy Hill school at Awoshie. Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslims, Alhaji Mohammed Ofori, thanked the MP for his kindness and prayed that Allah would continue to guide him as he leads the constituency in its march towards development.
