Fifty-year-old Prophetess Agnes Agyei Koomson, head Pastor of the Grace Saviour Ministry, was last Friday gunned down in an alleged armed robbery attack at her residence at London Hill, Sowutuom, a suburb of Accra. Prophetess Koomson�s 24-year-old son, identified as Prince Oduro, was also shot in the chest and ribs by the two-member robbery gang. Items taken by the robbers included four mobile phones and an amount of GH�2000. The Police however described it as a contract killing, relating the matter to a disputed land involving the deceased and some group of land-guards in the area. The Attack Information gathered at the scene indicated that the suspected armed robbers attacked the house around 1:30am on Friday. The deceased lived with her husband, Kennedy Agyei Koomson, their 14-year-old girl and Prince Oduro, a man whom the prophetess adopted to assist her in her pastoral duties. The two armed robbers, with one wearing a mask, scaled the about 7-foot wall of the house with the help of some packed cement blocks outside the house. They then entered the main hall of the house through an unlocked sliding window to first attack the 14-year-old girl at gunpoint. The armed robbers made her feign sickness and went to knock on the door of Mr Koomson. In Mr Koomson�s room, the robbers took two mobile phones before proceeding to the room of Prophetess Agnes Koomson. At gunpoint, the suspects ransacked her room, took GH�2,000 cash which was concealed in an envelope and her mobile phone. They then marched her to the room of Prince where they attempted to pick his laptop. At that moment, Prophetess Agnes started begging the armed robbers to leave them alone. Thereupon, they shot her in the right eye in the presence of her husband and the others. Prince also received a bullet in the chest and ribs. At that moment, Mr Koomson feigned unconsciousness and when one of the armed robbers tried to shoot him, the other advised that they leave, since he was already dead, after giving him some kicks. They then left with the money and mobile phones, leaving the 14-year-old girl unhurt. Police Findings Meanwhile, preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the attack was a contract killing and not a real armed robbery attack. DSP Freeman Tettey of the Accra Regional Public Relations Directorate told DAILY GUIDE that the Prophetess was in litigation over a land on which her church was currently built with some land-guards. The matter was reported to the property fraud unit and the case settled; but the other faction was still not satisfied. He noted that investigations were ongoing to bring the perpetrators to book. The Paper�s Findings Information gathered by DAILY GUIDE at the scene indicated that Prophetess Agnes Koomson, described as a very spiritual and powerful woman by residents of the area, commissioned her new church building last Sunday July 20, 2014 at Lormnava. She was worshipping with the other church members under a tent when the land dispute was ongoing. She only decided to put up her church building two years ago after the land dispute was settled. The building was commissioned on July 20, 2014, barely five days to the day she was killed. Her body was deposited at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital morgue after she was pronounced dead on arrival at the Police Hospital. Meanwhile, Prince Oduro, her adopted son, is responding to treatment at the Police Hospital in Accra.
